Registration Fees

SCS Members

  • CHF 0.00 (free of charge): participation incl. presenting a talk or a poster.
    If attending as an SCS member you have to bring your SCS membership-card with you!

Non-SCS Members

  • CHF 250.00: registration to the conference and presenting a talk or a poster
  • CHF 100.00: registration to the conference as participant

Registration and Payment

  • Registration must be proceeded via the conference website. The only exceptions are invited speakers and guests that are automatically registered after their participation confirmation.
  • Payment of all fees must be made in full within 30 days of the registration, and in any case before August 28, 2019.
  • Offline payment (invoice) and online payment (PayPal / Credit Card) is possible. For online payments additional taxes will be charged. 
  • Onsite registration and payment in cash is possible. On the arrival at the Irchel Campus, please proceed to the registration desk. For onsite registration queue time might be possible.
  • Registration is personal and cannot be transferred to another person.

Presentations

  • Applications for all presentations must be submitted via the online abstract submission process after the registration. Applications are possible until May 12, 2019.
  • By submitting your abstract you confirm, that you check the layout of your abstract and that you agree to have it published on the conference website and as supplementary data of CHIMIA on ingentaconnect.
  • Application for an oral presentation: the speakers for the parallel sessions will be selected based on the submitted abstracts. The session committees will define the programs until June 21 and will make sure that topical and regional diversity is respected. Applicants that are not considered for a talk are automatically invited to present their research as a poster.
  • Oral presenters: hand over your presentation file to the session staff prior to the session. All presentation files will be deleted immediately after the session.
  • Poster presenters: Presenters must display their poster at 12:30h at latest and should not remove it before the end of the poster session at 15.00h. The format of the poster should be DIN A0, portrait (84,1 x 118,9 cm).

Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel your participation or you don't show up, no refund of paid participation fees can be claimed.
  • If you cancel your presentation (poster or talk) after July 5, 2019 or if you don't show up a penalty fee of CHF 50.00 become due.

Alteration or Cancellation of the Conference

  • The organizers reserve the right to change the lecture halls and/or speakers and/or program of the conference. 
  • The organizers reserve the right to cancel the conference in case of any unpredictable event. In the event of such a cancellation, the organizers will refund any registration fees paid, and this refund shall be the full extent of the organizers’ liability to the delegate arising out of such cancellation.

Disclaimer

  • The organizers cannot accept any liability for personal injuries or for loss or damage to property belonging to the participants, either during, or as a result of the conference. Please check the validity of your own personal insurance before attending. 
  • All poster presenters, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of their presentations/performances.

Privacy Statement

  • The information given to the organizers will be recorded in the organizers’ databases and will be used for administration purposes. 
  • The organizers may take photographs, and include any of these photographs on its websites and in CHIMIA.
  • You are not permitted to record any part of the event.

Applicable Law and Place of Jurisdiction

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Jurisdiction for any dispute arising from or in connection with the conference shall exclusively be the courts of the city of Bern.
